Our Rhassoul (Lava) Clay is a mineral-rich volcanic clay from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco that has been used for centuries as a standard in hammams to wash the body. Containing high concentrations of magnesium, silica, calcium, and potassium with iron and sodium it works by drawing out oils, impurities and toxins while removing dead skin cells - leaving you with cleaner, softer, clearer and more supple skin.

Moroccan Rhassoul Clay is traditionally used in masks for skin and hair, mud baths, and clay baths, stimulating skin circulation while strengthening, rejuvenating and toning the skin. It attracts and lifts dirt, yet does not strip your skin of natural oils.

In haircare, it reduces dryness, removes impurities and product build-up, while stimulating the scalp and restoring softness and luster to dull hair.

Ingredients:  Rhassoul

Application:  Take the desired amount into a wooden or glass bowl and with a wooden spoon mix with an herbal infusion, hydrosol or just plain water until you get a thick paste. Pre-moisten your skin with a spritz of an aromatic hydrosol first then apply with a makeup brush to moist skin. (Manuka, Lavender, Rose, Neroli or Witch Hazel hydrosols are lovely, but you can use any of them, as they are very gentle.)

For very sensitive or dry skin keep the clay moist by applying circular massage with wet fingertips and use once only per week. You may allow the mask to dry.  Rinse the mask off after 15 minutes with lukewarm water.  To finish, spritz your face with a hydrosol or toner of choice to close the pores and hydrate your skin.  Top with a facial serum or cream to lock in the moisture.

*Best for sensitive, irritated or dry skin.

Tips:  You can also apply to underarms for an "armpit detox" or add a couple of drops of your favorite essential oil to the paste. Try Manuka, Lavender, Tea Tree, Kunzea or Frankincense. Try adding some clay to your bath to absorb magnesium through the skin for additional benefits.
